Serves: 1 loaf
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 medium bananas, mashed
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
  3. Sift together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix just until incorporated. Add sour cream and mix until smooth.
  5. Stir in bananas, then spread batter into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean.
  6. Cool loaf in pan for 10 minutes. Slide a butter knife around all sides to loosen bread from pan. Turn pan upside-down to release bread onto cooling rack. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
