Recipe type: Main Dish, Ground Beef
Serves: 4 servings
Ingredients
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pkg. onion soup mix
  • 1-1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp cold water
  • 1 Tbsp canola oil
  • 1 8-oz pkg sliced mushrooms
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine the bread crumbs, ground beef, egg, garlic, and salt and pepper (I just used my hands). Form into 4 even patties.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch and cold water. In another bowl, combine the onion soup mix and beef broth. Add cornstarch mixture and stir well to combine. Set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat canola oil. Add burgers and cook the burgers 2 minutes per side or until browned. Remove from pan.
  4. Add mushrooms and onion to pan and saute until mushrooms are browned. Add cornstarch/beef broth mixture and bring to a boil, stirring constantly until slightly thickened.
  5. Add burgers back to pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until burgers are done, about 6 minutes. Divide burgers onto four plates. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or veggies. Drizzle with gravy. Enjoy!
